Akhirnya nulis lagi. Udah 7 bulan di Perancis. Setelah 7 minggu Package Intégration de Langue (Belajar bahasa+Homestay) di Strasbourg, 4 bulan Package Intégration de Methodologique (Belajar metode belajar di Grands Ecole Perancis, belajar mata kuliah dasar Elektro), tibalah gw di Toulouse. Kota tujuan akhir gw, dan tanggal 8 Februari 2010 nanti mulai kuliah gabung sama mahasiswa tahun kedua Génie Electrique et Automatique ENSEEIHT (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electrotechnique, d’Electronique, d’Informatique, d’Hydraulique, et des Télécommunications), tempat belajar gw sampe Oktober 2011 nanti..
Yup, asik euy ngerjain slidenya. Hmm..
Musti memilih nanti April 2010. hoho.. Ada usulan?

At last I’ve started to write again. It has been 7 months since I arrived in France. After 7 weeks of Package Intégration de Langue (learning french while doing the homestay) in Strasbourg, 4 months of Package Intégration de Methodologique in Metz(learning the studying method in France’s Grandes Ecoles, revising electrical engineering basic courses), here I am in Toulouse. The last destination of my adventure here in France (for my studies), and on the February 8th I’ll start my studies here, I’ll be joining the second-year students of ENSEEIHT’s Génie Electrique et Automatique (GEA). ENSEEIHT stands for (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electrotechnique, d’Electronique, d’Informatique, d’Hydraulique, et des Télécommunications) which is the school I’ll be studying in until October 2011.
After 7 weeks of summer in Strasbourg, 4 months of a really cold winter (it reached -11 degrees of Celcius) in Metz. A hard and fun periode of adapting with a new country, a new culture, and far from the people I love. After the changes which were good, sad, normal, expected or unexpected, I’ve arrived in the school where I’ll be studying electrical engineering, especially power electronics and electric energy conversion.
Because I’m new in the school, I was asked to present a PPP (Projet Pérsonelle Profesionelle – Personal Profesional Project). The subject PP is a course which is taken by all second-year students in the department of Electrical Engineering and Control (GEA) of the Diplôme d’Ingenieure (BAC+5) of ENSEEIHT. But, mostly I was asked to explain what I had wanted to study in ENSEEIHT.
It was a fun to make the slides. Memorizing why I chose to go here. Memorizing the moments when I chose to go here. The discussions with my parents, friends in the lab, she who had built dreams together with me, with the profesors. It was like a moment of flashback. My moments in the university, moments when I had just graduated, even the momen when I left Jakarta for the first time. sigh.. Things have changed now after 7 months, but one thing remains the same, I still have the passion to fight for my dreams here. How ever people have changed, my destiny is always mine to embrace.
So, I made my slides, I reopend my files in my laptop.. My ultimate dream is to open a connection, a good one, between the researche and people’s and industries’ needs. In ENSEEIHT, each department is connected to a laboratory. For GEA there is LAPLACE http://www.laplace.univ-tlse.fr/. The complete information in english can be founded in http://www.bde.enseeiht.fr/clubs/englishwebsite/research.php. These labs are connected with many schools and, of course, with the industry.
In order to be a properous country, Indonesia has to progress with its researches. It’s sad to see my friends in my university have not many choices to make in order to improve their knowledge through research after graduating. I won’t discuss about this topic in this post. sigh.. Indonesia ought to have a good progress in its researches with its own accent and they can be collaborated with the researches of other countries. This researches also have to be able to improve Indonesia’s prosperity beside Indonesia’s knowledge and competence. Wheter it’s a high-tech or low-tech one, all is importan.
Now we return to the presentation. Because I was drowned in a nice holiday in Paris for almost a week, I delayed oftenly working on the slides, a bad habit it is. So, I had to workd hard in the night before the presentation. hoho.. I did the presentation in front of the Head of the GEA Department, Mrs. M. Davide, Mr. Michel Doisy who is the person in charge of the nplusi program in ENSEEIHT, and Mr. Bruno Sereni who is one of the professors in my department. It was done at 9 o’clock in the morning. I had woken up at 6, but I left my bed at 8. Hence, I took a bath fastly, a breakfast of two slices of bread, and I rode my bike to Compans Caffarelli to take the Metro until Francois Verdier before walking to ENSEEIHT for 5 minutes. At 8.52 I arrived in the classroom B307. Mr. Sareni had arrived before me, he was preparing the projector. Gladly, I was not late.
The presentation started with the explanation about how things are done in the Bachelor program of Electrical Engineering in ITB, beginning from the first year until the fourth. They were curious because the system in ENSEEIHT is different with ITB’s system. I explained also why I had chosen to go to ENSEEIHT. At my last years in ITB, I was lucky to have the chance to make contacts with the people who were running ITB’s organization and to discover informations about researches in Indonesia and the universities part on it. I was lucky to discover several factors (not all of them) which had caused Indonesia’s dependence to foreign technology to process its natural resources, despite, its abundant resources of Indonesian engineers. Although I wasn’t a diligent and genius student with an awesome academic achievements among my fellow electrical engineering students, I think I can participate in this subject. How Indonesia’s human resources can optimally fight for Indonesia’s independence? How could the researches in universities, whic are done by great people (professors and students) maximally develop our nation? I explained the ‘jury’ about my dream of an innovation center in the electric energy conversion and electric system domain. Indeed, everything starts from a dream..
I was surprised to hear their respons. It was great to see them understand about my worries of Indonesia and to see them offering their help and suggestions. It supported my moral, although, it meaned that I ought to work harder and harder. From our discussions, there were two options which were the best for me to choose in the last year. Whether it’s TAEE (Traitement Avancées de l’Energie Electrique – http://www.enseeiht.fr/fr/formation/genie_electrique/formation_en_genie_electrique/3eme_annee/taee.html) or Eco Energy (http://www.ensiacet.fr/Web_A7/ENSIA7_FR/FORMATION/INGENIEUR/OPTION/ecoe.shtml).
I will have to make the decision in April 2010. Any ideas?
best regards,
-Nemi-
*ngarep*
